Fundamental Principles of the Movement

As the name of the movement, so too the fundamental principles that will be the basis and milestone for all that is done within it, and for all public and political action that will arise from it:Truth and Peace, Righteousness and Justice.

The aspiration is to bring justice to all the inhabitants of the land, through true, worthy, and clean-handed leadership; leadership that does not follow illusions, power, fear, or greed, but rather truth, justice, mercy, and peace.

These are the fundamental principles:

• Justice— As the divine commandment: "Justice, justice shall you pursue," so those who join this path place themselves in constant pursuit of justice, in the light of the vision of the prophets of Israel. From justice are reflected fairness, integrity, responsibility, honor, and mercy.
• Truth— An internal integrity that is binding; vigorous and urgent action compelled by reality, and not by illusions, slogans, or misleading visions. Truth is the backbone of every correction.
• Mercy— Leadership that contains mercy and compassion toward all creatures under the heavens, with a clear understanding that the people of Israel are a merciful and modest people, and are required to act with patience, according to the attributes of their Creator.
• Peace— The people of Israel by nature pursue peace. Their way is not to seek wars, bloodshed, and strife—neither with other nations nor, above all, within themselves. Peace is not weakness, but a supreme goal of wisdom, responsibility, and faith.
• Honor— A practice of honor shall prevail among all members of the movement, and between them and all human beings. Greater honor shall be given to those bearing spiritual, moral, or legal responsibility: judges, priests and clergy, sages, teachers, and public leaders.
• Integrity— All who join this path must act with integrity, honesty, and personal responsibility toward their fellow. They must be transparent about their intentions and public actions, hate greed, and act from a perspective that sees the good of all the people of Israel and all the inhabitants of the land.
• Humility— All members of the movement must act with humility toward one another, with the understanding that we are all human, mortal, and that no person has advantage over another due to role or status. They must act with listening, tolerance, and willingness to admit error, correct injustice, and return to the path of righteousness. All this from the understanding that each one acts as part of one living and unified fabric.
• Clean Hands— Public action is rife with temptations, and at the doors of the halls of power lies sin, seeking to cause the public actor to sin. Therefore, all action that is not classified as security sensitive, or does not involve real concern of slander or violation of privacy, shall be done openly and transparently—not behind closed doors, not by trickery or greed, but with integrity, transparency, and clean hands.
