Voice of Truth and Peace Covenant - Introduction

The October Mourning is a call to awakening for the people of Israel. And for those who listen carefully, it can be understood that this is not even a call but a true and painful outcry. An outcry for Truth. An outcry for Justice. An outcry for Peace. A great and terrifying scream reaching to the heart of the heavens. An outcry to the One God to visit His people swiftly.

Yet the silence enveloping the body of the land, and the earth that contained so much blood, continues in its silence.

But we, the children of the earth and eaters of its fruit, do not belong to silence; we possess the virtue of speech. A virtue no living being is endowed with; we have the ability to hear, see, and speak—to speak the loud silence! To speak the voice of the subtle silence that was forcibly imposed on boy and girl, man and woman.

We understand that the October Mourning is the product of events, the product of deeds, the product of pride of heart, the product of greed and lust for gain, arrogance and deviation from the straight and good path. The product of a knightly struggle, a brotherly struggle between Israel and Judah, between revival and destruction, between the bond of silence and the voice of calling and outcry. The product of coercion and tyranny, the product of aspirations for power and nationalism, the product of fear.

Therefore, love must be strengthened and always, always remember that the people of Israel are greater than the State of Israel. The people of Israel did not rise on its feet 75 years ago, but thousands of years earlier. The people of Israel endured difficult and painful things and despite the collective memory accumulated, with complete faith took upon itself the sufferings of bonds of love, and strengthened throughout all the years of exile in the love of the Rock of Israel and its Redeemer and taking moral lessons from its past and from all the peoples among whom it lived. Lessons from life in unbearable exile, lessons from the lost kingdoms of Israel, lessons from civil wars and wars of peoples and nations.

Now we seek to change, to remove the old before the new and to bring a new spirit among the leadership of Israel. For this purpose, we call on all inhabitants of the land who desire Righteousness and Justice, who seek Truth and Justice, who love Peace and even pursue it like Aaron the priest. To you is the first call; to you is the voice of Justice and Truth. Not a voice of outcry and scream, nor a voice of protest or panic. But a voice of subtle silence! A voice of wisdom and understanding that will break forth from the hearts of those who walk its path. This silence will end the power struggles within Israel and unite them under new leadership. Where Justice and Truth are the light to its paths, and all its ways shall be judgment and Righteousness.

We ask all party members joining to act in a new way, a straight path, a path without coercion and anger but with compassion and mercy, cooperation and understanding, good will and wholehearted action for the benefit of building the people and the land. To distance every pride of heart and arrogance, tyranny and coercion, and to act in the way of humility and reverence.

This letter calls on all the people of the land, both Israel and the other peoples of the land, to join the movement with the understanding that the paths we have walked so far are paths of death. And with the vision that we have the ability to change world orders and establish here a different future for us and our children. We must immediately turn away from the evil path, from the criminal leadership, from blind nationalism, and from the chaos imposed upon us, and seek a new path and a new spirit. Only thus will we choose life over death, love over hatred. This is out of a desire for a whole and good future in this land, and not only for ourselves but for our role as pioneers before all the peoples of the land.
